The Origin of The X10
The story begins with Pong’s father, the company’s founder, who was diagnosed with stage-4 prostate cancer. The full course of treatment was expected to cost as much as 10 million baht. At that time, Pong was a salaried employee and the only income earner in a middle-class family, which forced him to devote all his physical and emotional energy to finding a way to save his father from this life-threatening illness.
This led him to explore gaps in the market, where he discovered that hotels and pool-villa resorts in Thailand were priced far above the realistic value—typically no less than 3,000 to 5,000 baht per person. As a result, fewer than 10% of the population was willing to pay such rates. At the same time, there were many affordable vacation homes available, but guests would not receive resort-level services such as security, convenience, and food service.
What is The X10?
From this point, The X10 Private Pool Villa & Resort Khao Yai was born—a pool villa with resort-level service, priced so that everyone can afford it. The goal is to give people who have never had the opportunity to stay in a pool villa with full resort services the chance to experience it for the first time, opening the door to new and memorable experiences.
The core ideology passed down from the founder throughout the organization is that employees must always prioritize guests—Customer First. This means ensuring that every guest enjoys their stay to the fullest. Poolto Story
PoolTo (which means “a big pool”) is a pet that lives on the planet Pluto.

- Age: 30 years old (which is equivalent to a 6-year-old child on Earth).
- Appearance: Similar to a polar bear.
- Distinctive Features: A playful, cheeky face, a little beard, and a unique accessory around his waist — a pink flamingo float, which is the iconic symbol of the PoolTo people.
Personality: Warm-hearted, cheerful, playful, and charmingly mischievous.
PoolTo is a creature who absolutely loves playing in the water.
But life on Pluto—covered in giant sheets of ice and freezing temperatures—made it impossible for him to enjoy swimming the way he wished.
One day, while looking through his telescope, he spotted a beautiful turquoise-blue planet: Earth. At that moment, PoolTo made a bold decision. He leaped off Pluto and began his journey—arriving on Earth exactly on Songkran Day, drawn by the sight of so much water.
As he approached Earth, PoolTo looked for the perfect place to play—a place with plenty of clean water, kind and friendly people, and a joyful atmosphere. Suddenly, he saw a sparkling body of water surrounded by mountains, breathtakingly beautiful and meeting every one of his wishes.
So PoolTo landed there to play in the water… and that place later became known as The X10.
PoolTo quickly became loved by all the staff and guests.
At that time, The X10 had only 20 pool villas. PoolTo then spoke with the resort owner and asked to create 11 special Pluto-style pool villas, named The X10 Charcoal — inspired by the fact that on Pluto, ingredients and materials containing charcoal are extremely rare and incredibly valuable.
PoolTo loves The X10 deeply.
His creativity and playful spirit earned him the position of Activities & Entertainment Staff. And because of his friendly, easy-going, and mischievous personality, he was also given another role — Customer Care Staff.
From that moment on, PoolTo became an essential part of every development at The X10 and has remained with us ever since.

The X10 was not built by human hands.
But it was built by the kindness of humans — born from a son’s wish for his father to survive stage-4 cancer.
The X10 was born from one single intention — to extend the life of someone deeply loved.
The first 10% of this... came from the rush to save my father and the effort without much preparation. But the remaining 90% came from listening to the customers.
Our guests are our teachers — every suggestion and every criticism is the driving force that pushes us to keep improving.
Therefore, The X10 is a pool villa truly built by our guests.
The founding intention of The X10 from day one
It is a pool villa that is “accessible to everyone” and “think of us often”.
Developing our products and services to match the quality of pool villas priced in the tens of thousands per night
while offering them at a price everyone can afford — is not an easy task.
The cost of operating a private pool villa is significantly higher than that of typical hotels or resorts.
For example, a swimming pool requires filtration and maintenance 24 hours a day, even on days when there are no customers. Over 100,000 trees need constant care and maintenance, and we do not charge any additional room service fees.
Even though we have to provide 24-hour food and beverage delivery service to the villas on an area of over 20 rai, it requires a large number of staff to take care of it.
Every villa has its own private pool that requires continuous inspection and maintenance.
This means we must have teams working in three rotating shifts, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Why do we employ migrant workers?
Because many tasks require speed, endurance, and the ability to work under the sun and in the rain.
This is work that most Thais are not accustomed to or do not prefer to do.
We therefore open up opportunities for our foreign friends from Burma, Laos and Cambodia to help take care of the areas that Thai people rarely do. Even though they may not speak Thai clearly, their hearts are filled with
sincerity, gratitude, and genuine dedication.
In their countries, many are jobless, earn low wages, and in some areas there is still internal warfare. Over 80% of every baht earned by clients is sent back to support their families. —
Father, mother, children, wife, grandparents, grandparents, totaling 4-6 lives, we therefore see the value in “gratitude” and “human values” without discrimination of class, religion, or caste.
Because every smile from our guests is the energy that keeps us going.
